ELLSWORTH KELLY IS ONE OF THE IMPORTANT AMERICAN ARTITS OF THE LAST CENTURY.
IN HIS WORLD, COLOR WAS EVERYTHING. HIS LAST PROJECT AND ONLY BUILDING HE
EVER DESIGNED WAS A SECULAR CHAPEL TITLED AUSTIN FOR THE BLANTON MUSEUM OF ART.
THE PHOTO ESSAY "GLASS FOR ELLSWORTH KELLY" IS A POETIC STORY ABOUT HOW THE GLASS FOR
THE SANCTUARY WAS MADE. I FOLLOWED THE MAKING IN THE BLOWING FACTORY LAMBERTS AND TOOK
PORTRAITS OF JACK SHEAR, THE PARTNER OF ELLSWORTH KELLY AND SIMONE WICHA, THE DIRECTOR
OF THE BLANTON MUSEUM ON A ON-SITE VISIT AT MAYER OF MUNICH, THE PERFORMING MANUFACTURERS.
