Maria Aljoshina is a founding member of Pussy Riot, an artist and political activist. Following an anti-Putin performance at Moscow's Cathedral of Christ The Savior, she was convicted of 'hooliganism, motivated by religious hatred' and sentenced to two years imprisonment. She was released in December 2013.

She fled from Russia 2022 from an house arrest via Vilnius to Berlin, to begin a world tour with her Band Pussy Riot.
